A real business, start to finish, in the hands of a child.

Children develop a brand, make a product or service, build a marketing plan, and then open for customers at a one‑day marketplace.

1

Brainstorm the idea

What could you make that someone in Wichita would actually want? That question is the whole starting line.

2

Build the business

Name it, price it, design the booth, work out the numbers. Our free guides walk families through every step.

3

Open for customers

Three hours. Real customers, real money, real feedback. Many children sell out — and most want to do it again.

4

Talk with the judges

Local business owners walk the fair and stop at every booth. They’ll ask about your idea, your pricing, and what you learned. No stage, no formal pitch — just a conversation at your table. Awards go out by age bracket.

See a fair day for yourself.

Three hours, 100+ businesses, and 250 young entrepreneurs.

Wonder learners sitting in a circle for a Socratic discussion

Why a school hosts a business fair

What happens at this fair happens at Wonder all year.

We host this fair because it’s a small version of what our learners do all year. Wonder starts with a Montessori pre‑K, then a modern one‑room schoolhouse that carries learners from lower elementary all the way through high school, all on one campus in Wichita.

The work looks a lot like a booth at this fair. Learners take on hands‑on projects with a real deadline and a real audience. They think out loud in Socratic discussion instead of raising a hand for the right answer. And they head out on real‑world apprenticeships with people already doing the job. The goal isn’t a transcript. It’s a calling.

Learn to learn. Learn to do. Learn to be.

Three ideas shape every day at Wonder — and every booth at this fair.

01

Learn to learn

Self‑paced, mastery‑based work means no child is held back or dragged along. Learners own their goals and learn how to close their own gaps.

02

Learn to do

Quests, apprenticeships and projects aimed at real problems — because a thing you actually build teaches more than a worksheet.

03

Learn to be

Socratic discussion, honest feedback and responsibility for one another. Character is a curriculum here, not an elective.

“Your child is destined to be a world‑changer.”
